Mars Habitat | Final presentation

The design finally developed to have an Atrium taking advantage of the vertical structure in the crack built using the local regolith material available on the site. The structure is built downward-up in the crack using the HRI process.

Mars Habitat | Midterm presentation

The design incorporates the Voronoi Cells principle, inspired by the natural cracks found on Mars. At its core lies a central atrium that fosters life within its space. The living facades of the structure form an urban habitat for plants, simultaneously creating a humid, oxygen-rich micro-climate for the building's occupants.

Mars Habitat | Design Development

The design of the structure is explored to be built in a crack or on surface of the planet, to understand the benefits of both the iterations.

Mars Habitat - initial ideas | Case study of previous Voronoi-based on- and off-Earth designs

Initial concepts stemmed from analyzing Mars' atmosphere and site conditions. We embarked on creating diverse design concepts to explore the myriad development possibilities on Mars. Previous years case studies helped in providing a direction to the process.
